South American wind instruments include the Zampona pan flute, often known as pan pipes. Pan flutes come in many different varieties, but the Zampona stands out due to its constrained selection of pipes. The Zampona typically has 10 pipes, divided into two rows of five. The sound the instrument makes is distinctive and "woody."
The zampona is a wind instrument that originated in the Andes, particularly in countries like Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, and Colombia that make up the Andean highlands. It is regarded as one of the most significant and emblematic pieces of Andean culture.
HOW TO USE IT?
The pan flute should be held with your right hand covering the longer pipes. The low notes are situated here at the flute's bottom end. Put your left hand on the shorter tubes and hold them. Change how you hold the pipes so that your hand only contacts the side and doesn't block the top or bottom apertures. To experiment with different sounds, blow into the instrument!
